He's confident in his judgement of Zagreus and knows that they are kind and very understanding. That's why he thought they would be a good match. Laios ... I've seen parties disband over disputes or clashes in personality. Your party is small, which is risky in itself, but you made it so far. That's not possible if the people within the party haven't built strong bonds. If they didn't like you, they wouldn't follow you.

That’s different. That’s the point I was trying to make. Before dungeon crawling, I had no friends, but even then, I made those connections with the help of something else. My sister, for example.
